A dA Fight Christmas
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the pub, shit was going down…again. Dammit, Yuki. He was busy bashing some poor fool’s face (is that Alika?) into the ground repeatedly as other members of the island watched on or ignored the scene entirely. “Eh, happens all the time. Well, Yuki beating someone up does, anyway,” Magnus said to himself, shrugging.
With the wonky time of the island, the few members who knew what Christmas was had no idea of how quickly it was approaching. Well, maybe Alika did, but he was a bit preoccupied at the moment. Everyone else was going about their routine as if it were any other day. Crystal and Yushiro we out at the hot springs relaxing after a long day of…actually who knows what they’ve been up to. Claire and Ran were in the kitchen half sharing, half fighting over a cheesecake. Chad and Rellik were in the main room watching the show and placing bets on just how exactly Yuki was going to kill Alika.

After We Have Left Our Homes Pt 29
It had been a few months since that 4th of July party and Lindsey still couldn't believe she had lost that cornhole game. "One stinking point!" she thought to herself as she practiced tossing the little bags, "I'm not going to lose a second time!"
As she was starting to get a good grouping of shots, Gene walking in the room, "Hey, leader, let's go. We got a mission."
Lindsey stopped immediately, "Mission!?" she said as she dropped everything and ran to the door. "C'mon! Which way to the brief?"
"Briefing Room #4," Gene replied. "Sweet!" Lindsey grabbed Gene's hand and teleported the two of them to the briefing room.
The Breifing rooms were all the same. A few long tables with four chairs on each of them, an office desk at the front of the room with a holocom (A holocom is just a pretty damn high speed computer with a hologram for a monitor that was projected from the keyboard so that it was alw

It had been two weeks since Matt Dunton had planted his bugs in Yoko's office, and he now sat on his hotel bed as he mulled over what was being said. "What do you mean it was a man's voice?" he asked his subordinate.
The soldier stood at attention in front of him. "Unless something is horribly wrong with her voice, sergeant, or that is a man on the other end of those microphones."
Matt contemplated how this could've happened. "This is just making her look more suspicious by the second." Are you even sure that was the right room? She could've swapped name plates with someone else. "Why would she do that if she didn't have something in er real office she was trying to hide? Regardless of whether I put it in the right room or not, it still casts more suspicion that normal..." Good point.
Matt thought for a moment. "Keep checking it, just in case this man happens to be with Yoko or something." Why would she plant it in the office o

Yoko pulled up to the warehouse and hid her car in its usual hiding spot. She, Chad, Aaron, and Jason all climbed out and stretched their cramped limbs. "Woman, I will pay for part of it if you just get a bigger vehicle," Aaron said sorely.
Yoko rolled her eyes, "I'll think about it." They headed inside and made their way down the dark, dark hallway. It took them a while, but they finally made it to the end and opened the final door. What was on the other side was a surprise to the three boys.
All around them, there were Spirit members drinking beer, talking loudly, and eating various snacks. Is it just me, or are these people...partying? Chad thought. Yes, in fact, the entire warehouse was one big party. "Yoko, what's going on?" he asked.
Yoko chuckled and looked back at them. "What, did you not check your calendars this morning? It's the Fourth of July!" She walked off towards the rinks and the three boys followed.

Yoko walked into her office at the end of the day. She sat down at her desk and stretched. "I'm tellin' ya, all this standing up all day is wearing me out, not to mention all the crap I have to do after school." She cracked her knuckles and started working on the day's paperwork. As she typed, she yawned out of boredom. "Remind me again why I became a teacher."
After about ten minutes, she had finished her school work and stood up. "The boys are waiting for me so I can't take too long. I just need to do one more thing." Yoko walked around the room, checking here and there for anything out of the ordinary. If the Spirits say to always check a room you frequently visit for bugs, I'll do it. I've yet to see one though, in all my time as a Spirit. Yoko thought as she looked around.
Yoko sighed, bored by it. I understand the importance of it, but I swear there's nothing he--- hellooooo... Yoko noticed a hidden microphone placed under her

Nathan Zachary: Zombie Spooner pt. 1
I stood in the middle of the street, surrounded by zombies. My weapons were all either out of ammo or out of my reach. The creatures slowly crept towards me. I looked around for an escape point frantically, and found none. I was short of breath and starting to panic. As the zombies moved ever closer, I realized that I'd have to resort to hand to hand combat. I knew I wouldn't last long, there were way too many of them and hand to hand is one of the worst ideas to have when fighting a zombie. But, I'd rather go down fighting, thank you very much!
I popped my neck as they shambled towards me. My arms moved into their fighting stance. The first zombie to get in range was swiftly taken down with a right hook. I turned to my left and uppercut the next one, sending it flying through the air. I noticed one behind me and elbowed it in the gut. Then I reached out to connect my foot with a zombie's face. I turned to the next one, but that's when one zombie grabbed my sh

Matt walked down the main hallway that led to the ROTC classroom. "Those guys may complicate things," He thought to himself as he walked. "If my hunch is correct about Yoko and I have to attack her, those three might try to stop me without knowing what's going on... and I'd rather not have to kill all four of them." He said, sounding very sure of his abilities. "Hey, I can hold my own pretty damn well, thank you. It's just Yoko." Does he even know what her power is? "Nope, but she doesn't know mine either, so it's all good." Surprisingly, their powers weren't listed in the files Matt had read. "If you knew that, then why did you ask?" I dunno.
Matt continued walking, but turned a hallway too early. Not really heading to ROTC? "Obviously. I'm going to spy on Yoko, duh." Stalker. "Asshat." Matt walked to the end of the hallway and walked out the double door that lead outside. He stood in a smaller back parking lot meant for those who teach in the few portables t

Chad, Aaron, and Jason were sitting through another mundane day of school. Now, more than they ever did back when their lives were normal, they spent the whole day anticipating the end of the school day. They were currently sitting through a boring old math class that Chad had already taken. The teacher was going on about parabolas or something, Chad wasn't really paying attention.
Chad sighed and stared at the floor, lost in thought. "I can't believe I lost yesterday. I totally had her, but I had to go and reveal myself like an idiot. Bah! I'm so worthless!" He continued to feel sorry for himself until Jason smacked him in the back of the head.
"Yo, jackass," he whispered, "Teach just asked you a question."

The leader of the first squad stepped forward. "Sergeant, First Squad, Fire Team A was not able to find anything at the local hospital." While that wasn't a lie at all, it doesn't mean that there weren't any Spirits there. The Spirits had a few doctors who joined as healers, as near all of the people in the medical profession nowadays had some sort of healing power. "Also, Fire Team B found nothing of interest in the shopping district." Also, quite a few Spirits there as well, sneaking supplies out of their own stores for the Spirits to keep as emergency rations should the need for them ever arise.

Chad gulped at the sight of Lindsey's evil grin. "Oh boy... what have I agreed to?" He sighed and calmed his mind. The earth started to rumble and soon, stones blasted through the floor and circled around him, eventually attaching themselves. With his transformation complete, he opened his eyes.
Lindsey applauded. "That's sooo cool, Chad!" She giggled and returned to her fighter self. She punched her palm and said, "I can't wait to see those stones crumble!" She cocked her head to the side with a smug, toothy grin, held out her arm, and pulled her fingers back in a "come and get it" gesture.
Chad sighed again, "I'm doomed." He shrugged and began charging at her. When he'd reached her, he swung his giant, stone fist at her. She didn't even bother teleporting, she just jumped over it and threw a kunai knife at the golem. The knife bounced off the stone with hardly a scratch on it.
Chad tried swinging again while she was still in midair.

[Personality]

Laid back and easy going, kind towards all who deserve it. Especially kinder to those of lower status, whether that mean weaker, poorer, younger or so on.

[History]

An old member of the Hahn tribe of nomads. Miles was the only member of the tribe that truly felt sorry for Alden and the way he was treated. Due to peer pressure and not very strong will, he didn't stand up to the tribe and even took part in abusing the child. He never enjoyed it, but felt he couldn't do anything about it. The night Alden ran away, Miles was on guard for the tribe, making sure there were no wild animal or bandit attacks. He saw Alden trying to escape and let him go, hoping that would make up for all that he'd done. In the years since then, the tribe has disbanded, and all the members have gone their separate ways. Miles, a bit afraid that letting him go wasn't enough to make up for what he's done, searches for Alden to formally apologize.

[Powers/ Strengths]

  • Miles's magic comes in the form of aura. he controls his aura to do a multitude of things. He labels his techniques Circuits and Impacts. Circuits, as the name suggests, create a loop with his heart as the metaphorical battery to light the bulb. Impacts are Circuits that only last for an instant.
  • Concussive Circuit: The most standard of Circuits. Caused by clapping his hands together. Concussive Circuits create volleyball sized spheres of aura in his hands that he can throw at opponents. His aura burns all who touch it but him, more akin to touching a ridiculously hot stove rather than like being burned by actual fire.
  • Mini-Concussive Circuit: Caused by snapping fingers. It also creates balls of aura, though as it is a smaller Circuit, the spheres are only about the size of a baseball.
  • Sparking Impact: Caused by quickly pounding his fists together and releasing. It acts as a momentary boost. With each Sparking Impact, the size and power of the next Circuit will increase by 5%. After the next Circuit is made, the power increase is used up and must be built back up with more Impacts. If Miles should ever not pull his fists away quick enough, he will create an Impact Circuit.
  • Impact Circuit: Caused by a Sparking Impact that was held too long. All the power built up from previous Impacts will hold his arms in place, the more he's built up, the harder it is to separate them. When they separate, aura sparks between them like lightning and will fight to come together like magnets. When they do, all of that power will be released as a Shockwave Impact. A Shockwave Impact is much like an explosion in his hands. The aura released in the explosion still won't hurt him, but the shockwave caused by it will. If he makes an Impact Circuit too big, he will most likely die in the process of releasing the energy.
  • Concussive Impact: Caused by punching his palm. This creates an aura sphere that surrounds his fist, allowing him to punch someone with the same effect as half a Shockwave Impact. This means that too big of a Concussive Impact will also cause him harm.
  • Creative Circuit: Caused by making fists and hitting the sides together. This makes his aura more malleable and able to be contorted into and shape he desires. With this he can create weapons made of pure aura. They don't last long and larger weapons will need Sparking Impacts first.
  • He CAN give in to all of his magic, bringing out its fullest potential, but it's far too much for him to handle and he'll die in less than five minutes. I must state that he cannot go back once he has reached this point. He may have five minutes to live, but that doesn't mean he has five minutes to turn this off. Once he's done this, he's dead, and there's nothing he can do to stop it. It is his ultimate last resort.

[Skillset/ Hobbies]
I'd say helping others is a hobby.

[Weaknesses]

  • He has too much magic. As a means of comparison, about a quarter of his maximum output is the equivalent of all of the members of Fairy Tail combined. However, he only has the ability to tap into a pinkie's worth of what he holds in his body. This is far too much magic for one man to hold and it's too much for his body to handle. The cracks are caused by the magic slowly destroying him from the inside. He's been told that he won't live past 35
  • More powerful attacks take time to build up Sparking Impacts, meaning he could be somewhat defenseless while building them up.
  • May possibly flee from a battle if the situation is sticky enough. He would never abandon his friends to save himself, but if it's a one on one and he could die, he's not too prideful/might be seen as a little cowardly as he runs for his life.
  • When you get right down to it, he's still human. Bullets, blades, any weapon is just as capable of killing him as it would any other normal person. Maybe even more so due to all the cracks weakening the tissue of his skin and such.

[Likes]

  • Most of humanity

  • just chillin

[Dislikes]

  • Rude people
  • Grapes

Familiar Baxe: A magical dog he creates that changes breeds depending on his emotional state. When he's calm its a beagle, but the angrier he gets it goes from German Shepherd, to Great Dane, to Russian Bear Dog, and if he snaps it can even become a Hellhound, though that's never happened before.

[Clothing]
Red t-shirt, wide ankle exercise pants, steel toed boots. Big, round glasses.

[Personality]
Never had a friend before, not very good at communicating with people. Blushes just from being in the same general vicinity of a female. Really sweet guy, though.

[History]
Due to an explosion of births several years ago, Alden's home country was the epitome of poverty. People were having children left and right and having no way to afford taking care of them. Alden's parents were no exception. To avoid going bankrupt, they dumped him on the streets as an infant for the homeless to take care of. He was raised among them for 10 years until a famous nomadic tribe, the Hahn, arrived in his city. He begged them to take him with them and, with much reluctance, they agreed.
Alden thought he was safe in their hands, until he realized that the Hahn were all bigots, believing themselves to be superior because of their power. Alden was weak and had no magic, and was thus bullied for several years by everyone. At 16 he finally escaped and eventually came across a dojo that taught capoeira and how to create familiars. Once he finally graduated at 19, he returned to his nomadic ways, not knowing any other way to live.

[Powers]
Has fake, magical dog ears and a tail which manifest into the familiar Baxe. When Baxe is out, he has normal human ears and no tail.

[Skillset]
A blue cord in capoeira (graduated student, qualified to teach, but not a master)

[Hobbies]
Training capoeira, playing with Baxe

[Strengths]
His legs are extremely strong due to capoeira training and several years of being a wandering nomad. Arms are also strong, though not nearly as much. He has good control over Baxe.

[Weaknesses]
Ignorant of most everything due to neglectful and abusive upbringing. Illiterate.

[Likes]
Dogs, people who are actually nice to him, hiking

[Dislikes]
The Hahn, generally mean people, cats.

[Other descriptions &/or icons?]
The only building he's ever been inside is the dojo, so many things such as tables and chairs and lamps are things he's never heard of before. Unaware of many social norms.
